This map is one of a series of Shell maps printed in 1962 and 1963 used by a family to travel about the USA. See the Shell Los Angeles Central from 1962 and the Southeastern US 1963 Shell maps. The trip routes are highlighted on the maps. The tourist agent charting the routes even had a readymade stamp that said "Scenic" or "Direct" for the routes.
